Anastasia, a young girl, is reading a story from her book of ‘Tales from the Magic Seas’ when interrupted by the odious Miss Curdle, her ‘nanny’. After she exits to prepare for bed her doll, Mops, comes to life and they are transported to the deck of the ‘Saucy Tadpole’ and into the story she had been reading.
Taking on the character of Sally Cheerglow, Anastasia enters the story. Mops and she sail the Magic Seas with the ship’s sea captain, a turtle called Angus Patrick MacNamee. Unfortunately Miss Curdle has barged into the story and this leads to complications involving various sea creatures – some bad and some good, including the Mermaid herself, Bluebrine. But then the sea-witches, Driftwood and Seaweed and their off-sider, Tiger shark get into act causing all sorts of trouble. Can Barnacle, Jellyfish and Prawn save the day!
Spat would like to announce its new web site. It was time we had a refresh.
As part of the site refresh, we have moved the SPAT photo archive to a new server, which has allowed us to bring all our photos back online. Follow the link SPAT Photo Archive on the right.
With the new web site, it is now easier to update, so we hope to be more current than in the past.
We welcome your comments. Please click on the link Email SPAT to let us know what you think.
Finally keep an eye out for announcement of the Christmas Panto, a SPAT tradition.
SPAT’s Last show
SPAT’s last show was the Children’s Drama Workshop, held in January 2010. The 18 children worked very hard over four days, then staged a great two act play on Sat to very good audience
