Stanwell Arts Theatre (SPAT) provides an ‘acting and stage craft outlet’ for our many talented thespians resident in our ‘coastal villages’ area. SPAT is divided up into special interests groups.
During each year we stage two (or sometimes three) plays. In addition to these plays we produce an annual pantomime which is performed in December.
We passionately encourage the skills of local play writes, directors, production teams, stage-design and theatre staff to bring their talents to SPAT.
We all acknowledge that we live in a most beautiful area and the aim of SPAT is to add to our enjoyment of ‘our place’ by giving an outlet for the diverse talent of our community.
Performances and rehearsals are generally at the CWA Hall in the Drive at Stanwell Park.  Please note that we also take ‘our’ theatre to the city so look out for additional venues on our website.

SPAT Theatre

Overview

SPAT Theatre originated in 1974.  The main purpose of SPAT Theatre is to produce high quality shows for our local and extended community.

We offer the opportunity for those members of our community interested in writing, directing, stagecraft, wardrobe, props, producing, lighting & sound, and of course acting to collaborate with the SPAT team to have fun and stretch themselves in a theatrical setting.

Each year we try and produce 2 or 3 theatrical shows which includes our famous Christmas Panto. You can checkout our past productions under SPAT Past on this website.

Producing a show involves so many talents and skills in addition to this listed above including marketing, website design and management, financial management, social and print media communication. We welcome your involvement if you can bring these skills.

Involving the youth in the area is a key objective of SPAT – there are many theatrical performances that may happen at home that could be focused on the stage!! Each year we hold a children’s workshop in the school holidays – perhaps your young actor or actress might be interested??

As a special footnote, SPAT supports the Working With Children Check (WWCC) NSW Kidsafe Policy and as such adult roles in productions that involve children, such as the Panto, will require a WWCC prior to attending rehearsals.

SPAT Singers

Overview

SPAT Singers are a mixed voice singers who perform under the musical direction of Rod Lander. The group is essentially a group of like-minded people who simply enjoy the fun and social experience of raising their voices together in song.

“Those who wish to sing always find a song.”  – Swedish Proverb

“He who sings scares away his woes.” ― Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

“I only sing in the shower. I would join a choir, but I don’t think my bathtub can hold that many people.
” Jarod Kintz
